Overview

Nestled in the bustling Cheras Traders Square, IN Noodle House • 傳誠熟食栈 offers a slice of Chinese hawker favorites with a focus on Penang-style dishes. The restaurant’s location at 138, Jalan Dataran Cheras 9 makes it a convenient spot for locals and visitors seeking a casual yet modern dining experience that blends traditional flavors with kopitiam vibes.

The pride of the menu is undoubtedly their Prawn Mee, a dish that draws consistent praise for its balanced broth and tender noodles. Though the shrimp used are small, the overall harmony of the soup and ingredients creates a comforting depth perfect for those craving authentic Malaysian noodle soup. Alongside this, their Asam Laksa and White Curry Mee showcase classic Penang influences, though some diners have noted a gentler take on the original intensity, particularly in the fish flavor and spice layers.

Chee Cheong Fun with shrimp paste, a beloved hawker staple, offers a gratifying textural contrast and a punch of umami, though some find room for refinement in the smoothness of the rice noodle sheets. Not to be missed is the Duck Meat Kuey Teow Soup, which serves shredded duck and chicken in a clear broth; however, its lighter seasoning may appeal less to those expecting robust flavors.

The casual interior provides a comfortable, modern kopitiam atmosphere, making it ideal for family gatherings and casual meetups. The inclusion of bites like Lobak and crispy wanton adds variety for sharing, enhancing the communal dining experience.

IN Noodle House caters well to fans of Malaysian hawker food who appreciate a quiet, clean space to enjoy traditional dishes without the bustling crowd of street vendors. While some purists might find the flavors a touch muted compared to Penang originals, the inviting menu and attentive presentation make it a worthy stop. Complementary beverages like cham iced tea and rich kopis complete the meal, appealing to those who savor authentic tastes in a relaxed setting.

In summary, IN Noodle House stands out in Cheras for bringing Penang’s noodle culture to a wider audience, with a dining environment that balances comfort and tradition. It's a place to savor familiar flavors, try local favorites, and enjoy a laid-back culinary journey in Selangor’s vibrant food scene.

Ordered 3 items, forgot to take picture of the hot kopi (extra kaw(need pay extra)). Hot kopi extra kaw (strong) need pay additional, depends on size, it is indeed strong and taste a bit thicker. Duck noodle, the soup is clear and light, comes with shredded duck meat and chicken meat, and 3 pieces of balls (not sure what flavor, taste like chicken). Personally I felt the soup lack of flavor, it is rather light.. too light to my liking. Penang style chee cheong fun with 虾膏, well the taste of the paste is not bad, but the chee cheong fun is rather coarse, not smooth. Nevertheless will come back try other dishes, maybe

We ordered the shrimp paste cheong fun, asam laksa and white curry laksa. Then we packed the prawn mee and kuay tiao soup. To my personal taste, only the prawn noodle is good, the others are just okay.

Food are okay, but far from penang taste. Order asam laksa and prawn noodle. The taste did not hit my expectations with hint of missing final punch of taste. Asam laksa has less fish in it. Prawn noodle have only small 20sen size shrimp and still split to half to show more. Crowd are there during my late morning visit. The lobak is the highlights for this meal. Temperate and taste are the only on par with my penang expectations. Highly recommended to order during your visit.
